I?m not a weather dog, but wind, rain and a cold front coming thru is a strong possibility.

    Beware the weather.

In the apple cup Leach had his 11-2 team led by Gardner Minshew was ready whip up on UW at home when a blizzard with howling wins struck. I looked at the weather at kickoff and said this game is over. You could not throw the ball or even see a receiver. UW was a power running team so it was great for them.

The weather can stop the air raid, no matter how good it is playing.

There's looking to be a good possibility of a front coming though middl to late next week. The problem is the models keep changing the timing. I've seen it pushing through Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. None of them showing heavy precip. And depending on when it comes through will determine temps. Could be anywhere from the 40's to the 60's. Hoping by end of this week have a better idea of what to expect.

Cold is okay, just can’t have precipitation or howling winds.

I've been going to egg bowls and watching egg bowls for many years. If history repeats itself, it usually rains on T'giving morning, then turns a little cooler and a little windy later in the afternoon. It's done this as long as I can remember (since '76).

Latest gfs that is just now coming in has egg bowl game weather as light to moderate rain with temps in the 50's. But before there is weeping and gnashing of teeth remember it is impossible to nail down timing this far out. The latest run of the euro earlier today already had the front pushed though with dry and colder air in place.

Rain doesn't hurt the passing game.

While still 9 days out the models are starting to trend towards a wet Thanksgiving. The euro is slowing down to match the GFS. Might want to pack a poncho if heading to the egg bowl as it looks now.

While we're all figuring out the best way to enclose the south end, maybe we should put a roof on it at the same time

Two of the DOGS great wins over om was Eli’s soph year and JWS’s first year. Both rained early in day and turned cold and clear at game time.....if memory serves.

    Some good news bad news.

The latest runs of the gfs and euro are now out of agreement. Good news both are now showing a relatively dry to completely dry Thanksgiving day and evening across the Starkville area. GFS tries to work in dorm light showers but that's about it. The euro is completely dry. The bad news...the euro is now trying to show a potential severe weather threat for MS during the overnight and early morning hours Thanksgiving night into Friday morning. It's also showing a significant snow storm for parts of AR and MO. Like I said before...things can really change this far out and will probably change again.

Yes it does. Statistically speaking teams throw at a lower completion %, less touchdowns, and fewer yards when it rains.

Things have been trending the right direction last couple days. Both euro and gfs are coming into agreement on the rain holding off during Thanksgiving and the game. Hoping it holds.

And now things are looking wet again. While there looks to be no severe weather, Thanksgiving is looking wet as rain looks to move in during the day and stay through the overnight hours. Official forecast is for a 60% chance of showers.

How far does your statistics go back. Is that all time or since new composite balls come along with ball dry also being used?

Latest gfs and NAM bringing light rain through the early afternoon hours and moving it out by 6:00-7:00. If these hold, it may make for a wet tailgate but hopefully a mostly dry game. Rainfall totals look to be on the light side...generally under a 1/4" based on last couple runs. The euro will come in over the next hour or so.
