JOMO was an OC at Penn State. And he had Barkley.

JoMo, unfortunately, seemed unable to transition from the OC mindset to the HC mindset. The HC has to be the disciplinarian. Be harsh. Set expectations. Carry out punishments. The OC is the friend. Soften the blows from the HC. Keep his players happy, but in line according to the HC rules. He wanted too much to be friends with his players and that was his downfall. Honestly, the men you lead owe you their respect and nothing else.

He also had no time management skills, playcalling skills and could never get his team to understand or comprehend what their assignments were. I know everyone gave Eiland hell but he was dam good under Merls but like all the Oline regressed under JOMO.
