Why would you want more people killed when we all we had to do was take time to put somebody minimally competent in charge of the withdrawal? They could have hired a random middle manager from FedEx with no knowledge of military operations and done better. It's not like they had to expend any political capital to avoid getting people killed. It's perplexing why they decided to not put even minimal effort into it.
