    2023 prospects

Two big targets that I?d like to see a push for - both at Henry County HS in northwest TN.
    Luke Brown ??? 4 ⭐️ OT/OL
    https://twitter.com/luke_brown71/sta...400705025?s=21

He is one mean big boy. I?ve known his HC for about 15 years, and he is well coached - not many better OL coaches I?ve ever met than James Counce Jr.
Luke wouldn?t see the field if he wasn?t doing his job. Smart with intense mean streak from snap to whistle.

Phone died while I was in the middle and haven?t had good service this morning to finish.....
second prospect at HENRY COUNTY HS is
Zamariyon Kendall 6?0 195 3⭐️ RB and probably one of the top RBs in TN for ?23. Great hands and deceptively quick speed.
    ETA-
could very well project as a WR or DB at the next level.

We're on both kids. The OL will likely be too big time for us.

I wonder if our scheme becomes more attractive to OL with the NFL getting more pass happy over the years. Plus you've got to think dropping back for pass blocking is better for avoiding CTE.

Maybe but the scheme isn't going to outrecruit Bama, UGA, LSU, & the like. Also this scheme isn't similar to any in the NFL. Nobody anywhere is throwing 75% of the time.

Didn't mean to imply that it would. It was just a tangent.

It seems like you used to hear that linemen wanted to hit people and didn't want to sit back in a pass happy offense. I was just curious if some of that attitude had changed as offenses have gotten more pass happy. The NFL now has almost half the league hitting a 60/40 pass/run split. That's not a huge shift over the past couple of decades, but it is a shift that would seem to make pass blocking more marketable.

Is anyone on the big running back at Pearl. Jamari Thompson?
27 carries for 250 yards 2 weeks ago at Petal
31 carries for 268 yards last Friday vs. Meridian.

Sad day indeed when an insider says we don't stand a chance to recruit a 4 star OL. If the program is to be respected we need to be a target school for 3 & 4 stars. Anything else is a waste of time.

Every 4* isn't already being recruited by UGA, Bama, LSU, Clemson, etc. There are different level of 4*.

Another big ugly in the state of Tennessee:
    Cal Grubbs C 6?4 280 3 ⭐️
    Maryville HS

Kid has a big mean streak. Plays smart, with leverage and power.

Go to his twitter page for a link to his HUDL
Maryville is one of the top programs year in and out in TN. Coaching staff is lights out amazing. Glad to see us getting in to these programs. There?s a LOT of MSU grads in TN, especially from the MS River east to Nashville. Really need to begin capitalizing on that region.

Now this is a kid we have a legit shot at. He's been to campus a few times & he's been very receptive.
