Didn?t JC say that Leach was the only coach he went after? That he got his man of choice after the supposedly not true Billy Napier debacle?

I think enough time has passed that I can share this.
We had feelers out before EB. Cohen had made the decision after the UT game but was going by to get through the season. Then we luck up and beat OM.
Napier was choice one, and had we made the move right after the EB it was his to turn down. When we didn't fire SloMo immediately he let his agent know he wasn't no longer interested. Then Cohen trying to be the smartest guy in the world has a come to Jesus meeting with SloMo and we'll SloMo did what SloMo does and we lost the bowl game. Cohen went back to Napier but he and his agent basically told us to 17 off. Cohen decided to now pursue a few courtesy interviews, Bill Clark was very interested but JC being JC went after judge. From what I was told he had all but agreed to the job but told JC that he did want to go through the interview process with the Giants. I don't blame him one bit for doing this as he has always wanted to be an NFL HC. Jude was even putting feelers out for staff at state. Then much to the surprise of all involved the giants hired judge. JC had no back up plan. Imagine that! So he now knows he has to make a splash hire with OM hiring LK and basically being turned down by two other candidates. So Cohen and crew went all in on ML including two or three trips in a week to key west to sign him.
I may be missing a few details on this but this is how it played out.

All of this is basically true, except Cohen was still wanting to get rid of JoMo after the EB, but Keenum wouldn’t let him. He basically told him there is no way we fire a coach after winning 2 egg bowls. So JoMo and Cohen had the meeting. After the bowl game, Cohen told Keenum it wasn’t his choice anymore and fore JoMo. Keenum cost us Napier.

Judge was coming and going to be like Pittman. I think kt would have worked well. Will Hall was supposedly interested in our OC spot and I never heard who the DC was. Judge was all in on hiring a good staff and letting them do their jobs. Once the Giants offered Judge, it threw Cohen for a loop.

Leach was then approached and he told Cohen it would be a process due to pretty much having to do a roster overhaul. We had a real problem under JoMo. Leach told Cohen it was going to be his way and his way only. Cohen agreed.

I'm still not sold on Joe Judge. The Giants are a trainwreck.
"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

    Yes, it comes from “Donations”.

But winning the Natty in baseball has made a lot of the boosters say to hell with football and focus whatever we need on baseball.

Look, we will never win anything of value in football. The SEC, NCAA, and Ole Miss will make sure of that. Leach has a history or doing more with less. We just have to give him time. If we are winning with a system that has a bunch of 3 start recruits, there is nothing anyone can say. We just have to give it time to implement.

We’ll know recruiting rankings are shit. That’s why when we get a commit he drops to a 3 star and when he decommits and commits to Bama, he jumps to a 4 star. They will take it from us everytime unless it’s a no doubter like Jeffrey Simmons.

We haven't in fact we have a trust fund that was left to us that's specifically for football and we have many many donors who want to be successful in football. Yes we have factions now that are more pro baseball but they always have been just like we have big donors who give more to basketball
I can tell you this we have several big boys who want to win in football and are making it known out there to t people who make decisions. We will be patient but we want results and what we are seeing is not selling them on the ROI.

Thank you. I reckon nobody's jerking to football ROI these days.

My bad previously; actually his name is spelled Clawson. He's still my man, though . . . . .

Nah. We probably have as good a chance at getting Mr. Clausen of Pickles Brand fame to be our head coach.

Will also add that Sarkisian was the next guy in line if Leach had turned it down. And he likely would have accepted. He may have left after one year, but still.
