Leach can't recruit. To win a natty in CFB, you have to recruit. You will not win a natty on coaching alone
ETA... jimbo is 110-24 (.821). Where does that rank among guys with a 100 wins?

I was hopeful that Leach's recruiting problems were due to where he's coached, but this year has proven me wrong thus far. He literally has no interest in recruiting & apparently neither does his staff

Instead he sees the truth about Fisher. He's a tweed jacketed used car salesman. If he is 110-24 it's the kind of record that's similar to being a 1000 yard rusher...on 812 carries. It's not what it looks like.

Leach has been a successful coach. He has a really good track record. He's a guy you get at a non-blue blood program though. He can't recruit enough to compete on the big stage. He will win games he shouldn't and lose games he shouldn't with his gimmick offense. Where did I go wrong?

BTW, preacher (and he wasn't alone) also said Moorhead was a better hire than jimbo. He was as comically wrong on that take as this one

I said he'd have them in a position to challenge for the west every few years. I never said what you typed. They were 9-1, and won orange bowl last year. I'm sure leach woulda run the table

They're moving down the field now. Anything other than a FG puts them in the lead with 6 minutes to go.

Jimbo and Leach are both good coaches. I actually do like Leach I just am not sure he is the best fit here. I think if he goes 7-5 this year I will start believing it, but my concern is that 4-8 or 5-7 is coming with him. 6-6 would even be okay given the situation but then he would need to win at least 8 next year
