BYU Football no longer has walkons...
Thru NLI deals with all 36 walkons - Built brand is paying for them all to have full scholarships
*edit* same company is offering scholarships players $1k to do the same deal.

Columbus Orthopedic, Viking would be awesome, hell my company may chip in.

I believe the out of state cost get waived for sports, band and other certain extra activity.

Use the 11.7 on out of state. Stack leadership. Raise 300k a year for out of state players.

That's where you need somebody like built bar above. Not gonna get that with crowdsourcing or autographs or Merch sales.
Here's what is says about the byu nli deal.. Would that fly with baseball? Not likely. But could think of other out of the box ideas. We need some of our big sponsors to step up and get more out of their gifts.
The players who signed the NIL deals will wear Built branding on their helmets in practice and will also "participate in experiential events" for the company, the school said. Walk-on players will also do additional social media and experience promotions as part of their deals.

If it was organized, we could get 300 people to give 1000 dollars each easily. Several on here would do that right now. Or 1000 people to give 300 dollars each. Just has to be organized by somebody or a PAC.

That sure hasn't been the consensus so far.
I'm going to be Watching the surly method very closely but it's very clean as of now. They are up over 2/3 of the goal and only got compliance approval yesterday.
Once the players get paid and people see its real...i think it's going to pick up. They might sponsor more players next year.
We don't need 300 at $1000. That would be amazing but I feel having more manageable levels (like $120-150) is the better way to go. With different levels of access.

So with NIL instead of hoping to limit scholarships to help parity in college football, you are now going to have the situation of some schools with unlimited scholarships.

FYI. Tuition at BYU is not expensive...
$2985 if you are mormon, $5970 if you are not.... And how many walk ons at BYU are not Mormon?
So It's not as much money as you'd think.

Just seems like now you are going to have players that turn down a school offering a free ride to go to a school as a walk on that is NOT offering a scholarship but he knows his school will be paid for by some booster affiliated business there.
