Lol?then watch as Bama, Florida, TN, Georgia and a handful of others along with Texas and OU break off and form a power conference? No?that?s a terrible idea and a quick way to sink your program. I?d be fine with losing Tamu and replacing with Texas and OU. Maybe pick up Clemson or VT on the other side. Tamu is weird, always has been, and is a weird fit for the SEC.

    Male cheerleaders with crew cuts.

I wonder if South Carolina would throw a hissy fit if Clemson wanted to join the SEC?

Right. No way they'd do that. They want us for wins.

    1. Each team gets 5 slots to fill as they choose. They can recruit these 5 players however they wish but you can only get 5 new players each year through this method.
    2. High Schoolers can declare themselves eligible for the SEC draft. All players not chosen as one of a school's top 5 go into a draft. They will be paid similar to the MLB slot sytem and each team gets 15 picks.

It is so obvious that the SEC is basically trying to become the NFL for 18 to 22 year olds. A draft is inevitable and this system would be fun as it would maintain recruiting for the Top 5 players and the intrigue of a draft for the rest of the roster. Players will be getting compensated well but would have to surrender some of their freedom of choice as they are now professional athletes. Mississippi State would essentially became an NFL Franchise for the 18-22 year old NFL.
By “some of their individual choice” you mean all of it.
