I'm listening, so I can't see... are we pitching to our shift or are we missing location that allows beating our shift?

He's missing his spots pretty badly.

Well, Smith isn't the answer. And neither is the damn shift. Analytics killing us again.

the analytics don't agree with what we are doing though. We just automatically shift no matter the situtation. Analytics don't say shift on a righty with a man at 1st base unless you have tons of data that a guy is a dead pull hitter which there's no way we could have.

Well we came into this game with questions about our third starter. So far we still have those questions.

Another failed experiment. We are running out of lab equipment.

He just gave up his first hard hit of the inning and it was on an 85 mph change up that was down out of the zone. It's 1-1 if we don't shift.

Should have pulled him when the bases loaded. It’s too late now. Just use him all day now.

I love shifts. I think they're a huge weapon. With that said, I wonder how much scouting opposing batters we do. Are we shifting bc of spray charts or sorta guessing?

If we hadn?t have had the shift on we?d been out of the inning with no runs scored

I?ve just never been as high on Smith as others on here. I don?t think he?s bad but I?ve just never seen the weekend starter potential in him .

Lemonis cost us two runs that inning. Play straight up and we are out with only 1 run scored

And this is exactly why I didn't want to play UF. They can hit and they are ripping us a new one. Lucky it's not worse than it is to be honest.

To be fair to Brandon, one hit was off the handle of the bat and he probably gets out of the inning if we don't do that stupid shift.

Shifting is who we are at this point. If we're shifting, I'm trusting our staff is pitching to that shift. Shifting isn't always what gets you beat... location of pitches does too. Now granted, I have no idea on my radio is we were pitching to our shift, and I also have no idea if Florida hitters should be shifted on

Agreed. Lemonis outsmarted himself that inning. Would have been out of the inning with a DP there
