Come super regional and CWS time, Kellum Clark may not be ready for the lineup, but Hatcher may not be hitting either. So Logan Tanner or Leggett are most likely our options at first.
Logan Tanner is one of the best defensive catchers you'll see. He's not moving. It's not even a consideration. Leggett is our 1B now.

Yeah no way in heck do you move Logan. He may be the best defensive catcher in the country.

You are totally correct. For some reason as I was posting I had Hancock and Tanner mixed up. Tanner will certainly be the catcher. Brain fart.

He's going to be very good for us. I know you're proud
Looks like a weekend starter for us next year maybe.

Yes he is. He will have a good chance in the big league.

Reminds me of Ed Easley maybe with a better arm. He has one more year to get better also.

I know I'm biased cause I'm a Dawg but I can only recall a handful(maybe not that many) that were as good defensively as Logan Tanner. Maybe Varitek when he was at Georgia Tech but Logan's one of the best I've ever seen.

He has a chance to be a 1st Round pick next year.

I agree. Great defensive catcher with power and a little clutch to him as well. Needs to improve his overall hitting but he's got tools.

Yeah, well, Leggett is likely our 3B, not 1B, so I messed that up too..lol

He throws the ball 100 MPH from the mound, but Lemonis says he cannot locate enough to be a college pitcher. The kid is a Hoss, for sure.

So he's Cerentola on the mound? Incredible

I watched him pitch when he was in hs 95-97 and he threw strikes ok but command in sec baseball vs throwing strikes in hs is 2 totally different animals. He definitely has a cannon and he's so good behind the plate. Framing, blocking, receiving, quiet working behind the plate and a leader. Catcher is definitely where he belongs. Hoss is right!

He might be one of the best at framing pitches I have seen in the SEC.

I love catchers that can do that well. I've often wondered how much impact good / bad catchers have on their pitchers.

Over the course of a season I would say it is a noticeable impact. In any particular game with a pitcher really in command and cruising maybe not much. But over 15-20 starts it could be significant.

I've always found it interesting that when you have a great catcher not many people notice all the subtle things that save pitches, outs and runs but when you have a bad catcher everyone notices.
