    ESPN's Way-Too-Early Top 25 (Men's College Basketball)

    ESPN's Way-Too-Early Top 25 for the 2021-22.
    men's college basketball season has Miss. State moved up to the next line category (5 teams).

    Next Line:
    Syracuse (previous: No. 14)
    Auburn (previous unranked)
    Loyola Chicago (previous unranked)
    UConn (previous next in line)
    Mississippi State (previous unranked)

    Also, Dick Vitale mentions Miss. State on Twitter as a top 25 team.

    I think when/if DJ announces his return we'll be a Preseason Top 25 team. Just need to find a way to add a backup PG.

    I agree, getting that backup PG will be key. Howland did mention he had alot of confidence in Freshman Cam Carter who is a PG/SG but he and Molinar will be our only ball handlers with or without DJ Stewart. Stewart can play the position too but it takes away from what he does best which is score and defend at a high level.
