Seems like there's probably some recency bias there, in particular putting Westburg at DH. He obviously was good for us, but seems like we could get a better bat in the lineup with DH. I admittedly can't come up wtih anybody better off hand, but I question whether Foscue is the best we can do at 3B.

Of course it's also hard because of the changes to the ball. Can't leave Mitchell off if you're talking about production, but not sure he would have been anything special with the newer balls.

Foscue was better than Pirtle if you move him to 2nd. He honestly is a prototype 2B or 3B in MLB. He hit around .350 with 10 or so homers per year. He would be the best hitter on this team right now and I love Tanner Allen.

All the dudes before 2016 are 40 pts better hitters if they played with the newer bat.

Pirtle and Frazier were total hitting freaks given the times. They would be 380 and 400 guys today. Even Vickerson was pretty good hitter for his time and would be quite stellar now. Vicks 9 HRs in 2011 are like 16 HRs today. Westy never hit double digit HRs.

Hot take and will be attacked. Pirtle and Frazier were so good defensively, they made us think ground balls were automatic. They were a source of great strength and confidence. We probably don't leave Virginia with a Super Regional victory in 2013 with Westburg playing SS. No way. Westy is like more like James than people remember. He got to ball and threw it hard, but one reason Tanner Allen moved to OF was that our MIFs were so erratic.

Frazier and Pirtle today would lower the ERA by 0.75 to 1.25 runs. Something like that
