Anastasia Hayes....nations 2nd leading scorer this past season

2020-21 C-USA Player Of The Year, Anastasia Hayes, as of Feb 1, 2021..led NCAA D1 Women's Basketball in scoring at 28.6 points per game, and finished second at 26.5 points per game. Also, a very good playmaker...5.1 assists per game. Very good on defense as well. Ultra quick and crafty, Hayes appears a major catalyst for the team's success in season 2 under Coach McCray-Penson.
Big key for the coaching staff is effectively merging these very talented newcomers in with the returnees.

It's a shame that an incompetent coach will help kill that average. Pat must be shaking her head at this effort by one of her former players. I can't blame her.

Big key is not to be constantly subbing (stop go, stop go...) her (Anastasia) in and out of the game....leave her on the floor, she's used to it, and well conditioned for staying on the floor most of the game. Being in an extended flow of the game is often very important with many players, especially great scorers....ryhthm.. Keep Hayes on the floor as long as she can go, though...rest her as needed (especially heavy ball pressure rest). Need her to execute as an in the game player coach (floor coach), and leadership type role. Myah Taylor...leader as well. The more that others step up, the more opportunity for players like Hayes to rest. Other leaders will eventually emerge.

Keep an eye on Tulane transfer, Jerkaila Jordan (2020-21 AAC Freshman Of The Year) as well. Freshman Jasmine Shavers, Temple transfer Ashley Jones (2019-20 AAC Newcomer Of The Year). Other 2 Hayes sisters, and the sleepers.

It's only been one season. Whether you like her or not you have to give her a fair shot with her players (which she pretty much has now). I like the pieces she brought in, yes we lost alot but we bring in alot of proven talent to include the #2 scorer in the nation. If we can add one more big we have Alot of talent to work with. Yes she had talent last year but again, those weren't her recruits. The same way I'm going to give Mike Leach a chance is the same reason she deserves one

Yeah, the #2 scorer in the nation who didn't want to play for her school anymore. Something stinks.

Huh? She wanted to play in the SEC, bigger stage and more talent. How does that stink? I've seen alot of you bashing these new girls and Coach NMP. Yes we had a bad season and NMP has to turn this thing around or she will be gone, but she deserves a fair shot. She also brought in 2 proven Assistant coaches, one of which just coached in the National championship game as an Assistant. Give her a fair shot, not one season
