    Landon Sims

Is he the best closer in school history? He is better than Holder no doubt in my mind

Sims needs one of those Samuel L Jackson wallets from Pulp Fiction.

He's great. The relief pitchers that really stand out to me in recent history are....

    Sims
    Holder
    Ross Mitchell (before ball changed)
    Lindgren
    Girodo

He probably is. But holders stats in 13 were sick.

I never really considered Ross a closer, but rather an extended reliever, but you're not wrong. He was 14-0 (or something ridiculous like that) out of the pen the year we played for a NC. Insane numbers.

Sims has better stuff overall. Holder was great in his own right with one of the best 12-6 breaking balls I've seen in college though. It helped Holder though that he pitched in the dead ball/dead bat era.

If Sims was truly warmed up, I wonder how many innings he could have gone. Dude was dragging his nutsack one he settled in

Yeah, I sorta just lump relievers as relievers. In college, you can see your closer in the 7th and he finish a game (tonight). I just consider a reliever a reliever

Sims is on pace to be around 110-120 K’s if he gets to 55 IP

And what is really something is to think that he was on that '13 team that played in the CWS final and was in such a funk at the end of the year that I don't believe he pitched any in the NCAA tournament at all that year.

Which is more innings than Sims is on track for, but less Ks per inning.

Main difference is Lindgren had control issues. If we included walks, HBPs, and wild pitches, Sims is clearly the better of the 2 due to his reliability.
