Women's Basketball Recruiting
6-5 center Fatou Diagne from Senegal, a Purdue grad-transfer....commited to Houston according to source. Also, reported that she chose Houston over other choices, including Miss. State, Alabama, and Colorado. As previously noted, Miss.State has been following her on Twitter.
Also
Miss. State offered a while back (few months ago)....
6-5 f/c Taiyanna Jackson (#3 rated junior college prospect) from Trinity Valley Community College. She's a very athletic rebounder and shot blocker. Be hard pressed to find a 6-5 post player in the transfer portal with her athleticism, raw tools. Check out her videos..athleticism stands out, very good rebounder, legitimate rim protector.
My opinion, a couple of big keys for the women's basketball team next season are better overall consistency getting defensive stops, and rebounding. These appear points of emphasis.

Lost a player to Houston. Swell......

Recruiting isn’t NMP problem. She has picked up several good players since taking over—both recruits and transfers. The issue is maintaining the club house.

Lashonda Monk , 5-6 senior point guard announced transferring to Ole Miss from East Carolina....
2 time (back to back) AAC Defensive Player Of The Year pulls out of the WNBA Draft, and commits to Ole Miss. She led her with 56 steals this past season. Huge pickup for Coach Yo and Ole Miss. This helps boost an already strong pressing Ole Miss team....among other ways she helps them. Coach Yo and her staff at Ole Miss aren't playing around. Also, SEC , other programs aren't playing around.

5-11 grad-transfer power forward named Anriel Howard..a few seasons ago was a homerun.pickup for Miss. State. Some of the smaller (regarding height) forwards are amazing....can't count them out.
Also
The 6-5 junior college player from Trinity Valley CC...Miss. State offered her a few months ago. Her main things are rebounding and shot blocking. Good in the pick and roll, good passer, runs the court very well, especially for a 6-5 post. Shows flashes of scoring upside as well. Appears to have the blocking instincts, and have her timing down. Haven't heard updates regarding her recruitment, still, having offered...sign her up if she wants to play.

6-5 Taiyanna Jackson had 18 rebounds and 12 blocked shots today as she helped lead Trinity Valley Community College to a 60-34 win today over Tyler Junior College to win the Region XlV Championship. Also..Taiyanna Jackson selected MVP. They now advance to the NJCAA Championship Tourney in Lubbock Texas.
T. Jackson in today's game....
11 pts
18 rebounds
12 blocked shots
4 steals
4 assists
29:22 minutes
This is definitely a player that would help the Miss. State women's basketball team.
