    Chris beard to Texas

How disheartening that has to be for TT. If anyone can win at Texas, it's beard

I'm pretty sure the same thing was said about Rick Barnes and Shaka Smart

It was. Barnes got to sweet 16 or better 5 of his first 9 years with all 9 years being a tourney team. He never won it all, but he was pretty good... he was really good his first 10 years imo. Smart was a disappointment, no bones about

ETA... and beard has won big in the same conference

You also have Roy Williams retiring today. That will be interesting to see how that shakes up the ranks in men's basketball. I think you are going to stop seeing folks flock to those jobs. I wouldn't be shocked if they went out of college basketball to hire that job.

Do they pay better? Yes. But it seems like guys can have success at smaller programs, enjoy life more, and have a lot fewer pressures on them that come with big time jobs.
