I'm not sure about using a sample size of one tournament to make a claim. I would like to see an analysis of the last 25 years looking at the tournament results of the "last 3 in" from the Big Ten and SEC.

If the worst Big Ten teams to get in the tourney have a far worse record than the worst SEC teams to make it then you would have facts to back an argument. Even as non-scientific as your sample size of one tournament is, your own article notes that 10 seed Rutgers, 10 seed Maryland, and 9 seed Wisconsin upset their higher seeded opponents this very year.

    In summary, analysis > anecdotes.
