Kevin Steele would be my first call if Arnett leaves.

That was my first thought as I was reading through this thread.

Not sure why Steele isn't LSU's 1st call. If I had LSU's personnel, I'd want the proven DC. I know arnett was really good this season, but Steele has been good a long time

I think Tennessee got him.

I agree that’s it’s amazing that of all the great defensive coaches out there that a 1st year DC that had a good, not great season is this getting this many interviews at blue bloods.
That or he has a great agent that schools want to maintain a good relationship with. I think he’s a star in the making but he’s go the Joe Brady effect going on right without the championship ring
-
Also add that yes I’d call Steele ASAP and tell him we are interested if Arnett leaves. I’m sure he’d love to stick it to Auburn every year

Big #Vols news from @ClowESPN: Tennessee is hiring Kevin Steele to the coaching staff. Steele spent the five seasons as #Auburn's defensive coordinator. Former Tennessee player and assistant returning to Rocky Top.

That marriage might not last long.

That's the one thing going for us. The 3-3-5 isn't very popular.

Looks like Fulmer has found his defensive coordinator.

There are way more programs than DC's that are highly sought-after.

I agree here. Normal years, yeah anyone would want that job.
I think the timing is wrong. LSU is a mess right now.

He's gone if they pay him. There's not a question whatsoever about it. LSU struck out on a couple guys and he's it now barring a money issue.

Should be a warning sign when so many DC?s are passing on a gig with LSU. But maybe he wants to toss the dice.

Texas DC is still open too...

LSU is a top 10 job - issues or not and the NCAA is so weak I think they’ll get a small slap on the wrist.
If they offer he will get filthy rich and have top end talent so even if in 2 years if he hates it there he will be able to anywhere he wants if they perform on the field. Let’s not forget he just saw how LSU poached two key recruits last minute. If he didn’t know before the difference between the has and the has nots, he knows now.
