Miss.State Women's Basketball...adds Temple transfer Ashley Jones
Announced today, Miss. State's women's basketball program adds temple transfer point guard Ashley Jones....
AAC Newcomer Of The Year, 16 pts, 4.5 rebs, 4.3 assist per game last season at Temple. Also, knocked down 51...3 pointers (33%), and shot 80% from the free throw line. Expected to sit out the rest of this season for Miss. State, becoming eligible during the 2021-22 season.

Solid transfer. She is a proven player that will at minimum provide quality depth.

Huge pickup. She's the type of point guard that Coach McCray-Penson has talked about utilizing in her system at Miss. State. This, including excelling in transition game and being a very good shooter and scorer at the point. Get her on campus...start her practicing with Myah Taylor (already showing expansion of her offensive game under McCray-Penson, staff), the other guards, other teammates, start learning the system, getting coached up, helping make for even better practices, getting better, and helping team get better. Stout guard rotations, stellar point play go a long way towards helping win championships on the college level, other levels. My opinion, very talented and big upside with this young lady.

Also announced today.....Miss.State has offered the #3 ranked JUCO from the class of 2021....6-5 Tai-Yanna Jackson.
Last season (freshman) at Trinity Valley Community College
9.6 points per game
13.2 rebounds per game (4th in NJCAA)
118 blocked shots...season (3rd in NJCAA)
59.9% field goal
60.2% free throw
68 steals
34 assists
31.6% 3 point (6-19)
