    Controversial Call In Egg Bowl

SEC Refs really 17ed this one up.

Austin Williams' fumble should've been a touchback for Ole Miss due to Austin touching it while out of bounds.

I thought it was weird they never really replayed it. Usually they slo-mo and multiple angle look at it.

Yeah. Rule issues seem to be a week by week issue with this conference.

This isn't a judgement call. This is a factual error by the officials

That is a touchback absolutely. That play turned out to be the difference in the game.

No doubt. Brutal job by SEC officiating

It's probably not worth it for a first half play, but if that had happened late in the game, I would support us scratching the score of this game off the trophy every time we get it, like Stanford does for their trophy with Cal.

Not sure, but when I saw it live it seemed as if he actually touched the ball a split second prior to ole miss gaining possession, which would be a touchback to Ole Miss. Probably changed the entire game.

They reviewed the play and still missed it. Were too focused on whether it was a catch or not. Idiots.

Also I thought Austin was close enough to breaking the plane to take a look but they never showed a good angle of it.

He was close but I don't think he did.

They certainly should have looked at it but I can’t say that changed the game in and of itself. They just would have probably needed and extra 4 plays to get down to the 10 because in the first half they threw deep at will against us

I suppose it was ruled Williams doesn't have control or possession of the ball.

Are there still review officials "in Birmingham" to make the decisions? If so, why are the officials on the field looking at the slo-mos?

That doesn't matter. It only matters that Williams touched the ball while out of bounds. That means the ball is out of bounds & an automatic touchback

Play should have been blown dead at the snap. If you have it recorded you can pause it with the play clock at 00 and the ball is not snapped yet. Delay of game , back Us up 5 yards , still MSU football.

I have always thought the SEC officials were/are biased AGAINST MSU. This goes way back to the 1970s when I was a lad and I remember playing at LSU and LSU ran like 8 plays in 7 seconds to win the game or when Dave Marler was our QB and we played Alabama ... and the list goes on and on and on! Horrible calls! Nobody, or group of referees, can be this consistently bad! It has to be biased at the league level!!

A fumbled ball that is touched by an out-of-bounds player is considered an out-of-bounds fumble, even if the ball never leaves the field of play.

HOW DID THE REFS 17 THIS UP--EVEN AFTER REVIEWING IT??
