Moorhead was getting good recruits but has a young team that didn't understand his system fully. Same thing with Leach. It's always Jimmy's and Joe's before X's and O's when things are going good but not the same when things are bad. Why is that?
Nevermind the players turned on Moorhead. The total lack of discipline and lack of a s/c program. The players didn't force him to empty the clock and call crazy ass timeouts because he couldn't get a play called. And let's not forget he had his handpicked QB who knew his system. We've had two coaches that have completely tied themselves to their systems with no flexibility.
Is recruiting tough here? Absolutely, but we still recruit about a top 25 level. We've played at a bottom 25 level. That's on the coach. Especially with a top 5 defense.

It seemed to me that MSU offensive line lined up closer together in the first half than the second half but I only checked for that a few times.

Our offense needs to throw passes further than two yards. I don't know how down field is not open when 8 defensive players are within the first five yards of the line of scrimmage on every play.

Difference is he is not HC. HC has told him what he can do.

Oh yeah? Tell me which players on offense are going to play in the NFL next year if we're so good?

Eiland will. Kylin Hill will. Most of the rest are young. But how many offensive players do we normally put in the NFL that arent OL? Mullen won without putting many offensives guys in the NFL. Joe Moorhead was a joke! Even the players will tell you how bad it was.

Greg Eliand? Do wuut? He has regressed tremendously and barely gets in the way of the DL. He is not sniffing the NFL. Haha.

He's not a tackle and the NFL likes him for some reason.

Eiland won't last long in the NFL if they take him. His feet are horrible. Hill had major attitude issues and isn't on the team anymore. Thanks for proving my point.

How can people blame the players? Seriously?

In 2016 were 7th in the conference in ypg, 7th in ppg. What NFL talent did we have on O? Rankin redshirted, Jenkins was young, Aerris and Fitz and the WRs never did anything in the NFL. NO, it was Mullen that created a system that allowed us to be far better than our NFL potential.

Hell, that year with So Fitz we had 209 passing yards per game, MORE THAN MIKE LEACH CAN GET VS VANDY!

Then in 2017 we finished 6th in ypg, 7th in points. We returned literally everything on O, and under Moorhead we went and 10th in both ypg and ppg. Same players, 1 year more experienced and well developed, big droppoff in performance. It wasn't the players, it was JoMo refusing to fit his system to them.

And now we run the air raid and it's getting worse results than JoMo's offense. But it's the players? Our lack of NFL guys? We're seriously asking what players will play in the NFL as if you need NFL players to put up more than 209 yards of O on VANDY?

Look if we had Dak, AJ Brown, DK Metcalf, and Elgton Jenkins I'm sure the O would be better than it is. The point is not that we have amazing players or that players don't matter, the point is that if you can't see our scheme is failing to maximize what we have I can't help you

I'm still waiting on you to explain how Mullen won games without NFL talent. Nobody said our roster was good this year. But Mullen would win 6 with it.

I have watched Kiffin try that play clock stuff against Stanford while at USC. Stanford backers did split vision and watched the play clock. When it got under 2 or 3 seconds, backers communicated the play clock to the defensive linemen and the linemen started to charge as the ball was snapped or possibly a nanosecond before the offense snapped the ball? Also I have watched this occur at JUCO games while I was coaching FWIW?
