First off, the turnovers are absolutely the reason we look so abysmal. 3 pick 6's in 3 straight weeks. 9 total interceptions. That's unbelievable. But despite all of that, we're still pretty terrible, and our offense is like watching a midget army crawl through quick sand.

Leach has to adapt and adjust his offense for the SEC. The pure air raid isn't going to work in the SEC. Read that again. It's not going to work. Arkansas and Kentucky shut it down for God's sake. Can you guess what Alabama and Georgia are going to do? The athletes are too fast, the coordinators are too smart, and margin for error is too small. He's gotta change. Yes, I know he's had this system for 20 years and has shown no signs of changing ever. But it's also never gotten shut down like this. This is the first time a Mike Leach offense has scored 0 points. Think about that. So what has to happen for this experiment to not set us back 5 years?

1. Get a mobile QB in there. Every single one of Leach's assistants/former players who have gone on to become head coaches elsewhere took his system and put it with a mobile QB. Kliff Kingsbury. Dana Holgerson. Lincoln Riley. Josh Heupel. Neal Brown. Seth Litrell. Art Briles. The list goes on and on. What did they do? They took air raid concepts and put a running QB with it. It makes the defense respect the QB run and they aren't able to drop 8 into zone all night.

2. Add some play action and motion at the snap. We ran one or two plays last night where we ran a guy in motion right before the snap. That's not enough. I hate to do it, but look at Lane Kiffin's offense. They're running all over the freaking place pre-snap. It makes the defense think, and a thinking defense is a slow defense. We don't run play action. Why? We've got to do something to get them off balance. But of course, a play action is completely ineffective unless you....

3. Run the damn ball. I'm not saying ground and pound it all night. But we need more than two 17ing running plays. Add some tosses. Add some sweeps. Add a read option for goodness sakes. The OL is also an issue in this area, but we've got to get more creative in the running game to help the passing game out.

4. Tempo. We made fun of JoMo's offense with the check with me BS. How is this much different? Our OL is still squatting their fat asses for 15-20 seconds at a time. The defense gets to catch their breath and read what we're doing. Run some hurry up. Yes, it'll result in some quick 3 and out's. But it'll keep the defense on their heels.
