    KJ Costello

Something just seemed really wrong with him last night. He made terrible decisions and made some really bad throws too. And several times he tried to force the ball into double/triple coverage when we would have another receiver wide open 5-10 yards downfield. It was a complete 180 degree performance from last week. Hopefully this doesn't turn into a bashing the young man thread. I just want to hear yalls thoughts.

Not bashing. I felt the same. Several times saw a receiver flash open and KJ missed the read and forced a ball into a bad spot. Last week he had surgical back shoulder throws leading the WR. He never seemed to get the ball out in front of the receivers this week. They just did not seem in sync this week.

This was my take also. It's like he read his press clippings and believed he was this super accurate QB that could ignore what the D was giving and throw it into any coverage he wanted. I'm gonna chalk it up to Costello not being used to seeing Zone but if he does this again in the first half against Kentucky then I think Leach has to consider sitting him.

I think he is just a little soft overall, it's what the Pac 12 football is overall. He can still be good but must make some adjustments, his OLine has to dominant for him to be really good.

He's seen zone at Stanford. He was too selfish to run the ball and score. Instead he wanted to be the man and keep forcing passes. He was nervous and never settled down. Will or Shrader needed a few series to calm that guy down.

that was my take as well, too much positive press and wanting to prove that he could throw the ball through the eye of a needle.

Because nothing makes a QB relax like being told his job is on the line. When I'm stressed out at work, my boss walks up to me and says "the_real_MSU_is_us, If you can't do way better in the next 5 minutes I'm going to fire you and bring in someone else". All stress immediately disappears from my body, he's a great motivator
