While all the passing stats wows us i cant help but acknowledge our special teams...

Ruiz absolutely is the real deal. He may be the difference in a few wins and losses. i haven't felt this confident in making a field goal since Westerfield played. His kickoffs are deep and non-returnable rating A+ so far.

Austin Williams ok granted he won't break any punt returns for a TD but with his sure hands i dont get that sick feeling when the balls in the air of a muff. Ok he had 1 blunder catching a punt on the 5 yard line so over all i gave him an A-.

    Overall Special Teams Grade A

I like Ruiz kicking the ball out of the endzone on kickoffs.

totally agree ... and this kinda jumped out at me during the game. Good kicking all the way around from field goals to kick-offs to punting AND receiving those kicks ...... Absolutely refreshing

I liked seeing that too. Is it for sure Ruiz kicking off? I thought we were going to use a different kid for kickoffs.

He transferred from Arizona State. Maybe it was someone else on kickoffs. I need to go back and check. Anyhow, I?m a fan of touchbacks.

Ruiz was definitely a difference maker for us on Saturday. Made some big field goals, especially the last one and made all them look like chip shots.

The special teams were special Saturday outside of one shanked punt by day(and notice on the next punt we had a new punter out there) and williams fair catching a ball inside the 10. No mistakes and every kickoff was made with no chance of return. Ruiz was incredibly good. Every kick was right down the middle and he hit the clutch kick that gave us the lead for good. Also, he got his kicks up incredibly quick, which most people don't even notice and that helps prevents blocks. Refreshing to see so much attention paid to special teams.

We can essentially have him for 3 years. Keep him around! He's a difference maker.

I can't express how nice it was to have a competent, confident kicker during this game. While Christmann had decent streaks, I feel confident in Ruiz. To be clear, we don't win this game if Ruiz offers up a choke-job
