    SEC Passing Records

Burrow set the record last year for single season passing yards with 5671. Second on that list is Tim Couch with a little over 4200 yards. What is the chance that 1)Costello will finish over 4200 yards in only 10 games & 2) could actually set the record in 10 games? I don't think he'll set the record because he will have to average 560 yds/game the rest of the way but could definitely see him beating Couch for second because he only needs to average 397 yrds/game to do it.

He certainly won't break the record. 4,200 is possible but still unlikely.

Don't forget the bowl game. That would mean KJ needs 358 YPG for 4,200 (very likely) and 505 YPG for 5,671 (possible, but unlikely).

I could also see the SEC allowing teams to schedule extra games in December if the COVID situation is OK. Our last game is December 5 (assuming we aren't in the SEC Championship Game), but the Big 10 Championship isn't until December 19, so that's potentially 2 more weeks to schedule an 11th and 12th game. Maybe we can get the NC State and Tulane games back on the schedule - neither of them currently have games on 12/12 or 12/19.

If we can get 13 games after all, KJ could threaten the NCAA record of 5,833. He would need 435 YPG.

He is well above pace to break not just the SEC, but all time yards per season, passing record. Burrow is third. #1 and #2 are Mike Leach players as are five more in the top 25.

And we still have Arkansas, Vandy, Old Miss, and Mizzou ahead of us.

He won't break the record simply because we Burrow had 15 games and we're going to play 11 including the bowl.

I hope we get to play Tulane.
