But I'm guessing he doesn't actually get a protection detail but that cops sometimes provide security generally, and sometimes it's private security, but it's never actually providing him personal security and he's too self absorbed to tell the difference.

The problem is that we have all now discovered that what you are saying happened, is not what happened. It was not a no-knock raid, she was not sleeping in her home for example. And the grand jury knows tons more facts than you or I do. Just because "justice" doesn't fit a false narrative, people get mad.
