It's going to end up being Warriors.

I know a portion of this board are tired of this PC stuff, but man the continentals with a blue coat soldier Virginia Regular company as their mascot could be pretty cool, and is a throwback to true US heritage. The men that basically froze to death fighting the strongest military the world had ever seen at that point in time, all so we can bitch and moan on this message board. Awesome.

A stretch Lincoln Continent limo can be the team bus

So tell me what bug is up your butt that you feel compelled to turn most threads you respond in with a fascist pro-establishment post. Please tell me so I don't think you're just another GOP, pro-Trump, BlueLivesMatter, KKK, old gimp who can't get out of Fox News's basement ass.

So tell me what bug is up your butt that you feel compelled to turn most threads you respond in with a liberal anti-establishment post. Please tell me so I don't think you're just another DNC, anti-Trump, BLM, ANTIFA, young punk who can't get out of their parents basement ass.
For this specific thread I made a joke.
In general, Change doesn't happen until the majority in this country favors it. You have to make the moderate unhappy. The moderate who is content is the biggest threat to the battle for equality. All he wants is to be left alone. He's not inherently evil and that's why a lot have disconnect with the message of white privilege. Honestly I believe white privilege is an inaccurate descriptor towards the ultimate goal. It's really more of a black (or other minority) disadvantage. The goal should be to level the playing field by bringing them up and not taking away. That message gets lost and misconstrued. The moderate must be motivated to help drive this change. If they can ignore it, the country can ignore it.
As for that last colorful descriptor of who I am, I have my own place. I pulled myself up by my bootstraps and worked an average of 30+ hours a week while in school to pay for my college. All on my own dime. My parents couldn't afford a cent towards it. My dad worked two jobs until he got sick. The healthcare system ****ed us and we were bankrupt. My mother became medically disabled by the time I graduated high school from mental stress of providing, dealing with bankruptcy, and keeping all of the medical history of my father in order (the biggest feat of them all tbh.) My father passed halfway through my college. I've seen the horrors of what this country does when you aren't "useful" to society. And by that i mean unable to physically do anything. I fundamentally disagree with that. On top of the low income area (read: minority-majority) that I grew up in, I see the looks that you get. It's a crime to exist while black. Plain and simple.
I see what the system does. I don't pretend to have all the answers, but I know there are east next steps we can take to be better to one another. I don't believe every person being selfish is a healthy way for a society to function. If that makes me DNC, anti-Trump's actions (wasn't totally against his ideas initially but he implemented nothing I agreed with and is just a snake oil salesman at this point), believe that black lives matter, anti-fascist, then so be it.

KAPitals / Capitals is funny as hell...
so because I don’t like a guy that spits on the police force and gives a middle finger to this Country that makes me a KKK, fascist, gump pro trumper?
Just proves my point you are part of the problem of what is wrong with America today...

Just call them the Washington Sentinels and call it a day. It's not that hard. The color scheme and uniforms are already designed.

Sentinels, shane falco, terrible sugar bowl disaster.

Seems like the "Fighting Fidels" would make a lot of people happy.

They would sell out of Falco jerseys in .2 seconds. Although I'd probably go for a Clifford Franklin or Nigel Gruff jersey.

Do you share the same opinion about coastratdog's post? Or is it that you just don't like taking the same comment and having it turned around?

You rarely offer actual steps that should be taken though. That is the issue that I have with BLM etc. Nobody is actually stating what laws should be changed or what healthcare changes should be made. And universal healthcare for all isn't an answer without explaining in detail what that entails.
I would fall into your middle class moderate claims of just wanting to be left alone. I would be one of those willing to listen if actual options were explained in detail. Right now it just feels as though we are being attacked for something we played zero part in.
I don't have an issue admitting my privilege and I do quite a bit in my local community with underprivileged minority kids. So here I am spending a decent bit of my free time working with the very group that you state is in the most need and then on top of that your group is calling me selfish/racist/bigoted/ because I am a white straight male despite the fact that a lot of people on the left aren't getting out in their communities and doing anything to help those fatherless youth.
You may think rioting is doing something but it isn't helping the 9 year old that lives in the slums without a father or sustainable income become a successful human. It may or may not pay off 30 years from now but it is doing nothing for the current generation of kids. I have a hard time respecting someone's opinion that isn't involved in their own local impoverished communities telling me I'm racist and just don't know it when I am giving away plenty of time that I could be spending with my wife and kids to work with and teach other kids that aren't as fortunate or "privileged" as my kids are.

The people trying to offer real concrete ideas get glossed over. We live in a bite size society and push short quips to the front. "Defund the police" is what is said when it really means we shouldn't be having these guys geared up for all out war.
I've had discussions on several threads that point to it here. And am always happy to discuss when it comes up. There are disagreements in philosophy of some of it (The +1 talk with shotgun and separately with dawgology is just fundamentally different. I get their perspective, we just differ in opinion.)
I mean it's taxing to offer the actual steps written out everytime. I'll put together a signature going forward of "actual steps" I believe in. I just have concern that that may open the door to every thread becoming political and if a moderator would ask me to not, then I'll remove it.
Yes you're moderate and I really hate the term "privilege". It makes it too easy demonizing white people and fostering enemies instead of allies. I think the standard for all people should be the "white privilege default." I want a better society to pick people up, not tear down people for "privilege" of living a normal standard life.

I appreciate the leveled response. I feel like conversation gets shut down on both sides because one always has to yell louder than the other. I can't tell you how many times I have gone into a conversation with someone more liberal than I and if I even question on thing about their beliefs or opinions it immediately goes to I'm an ignorant/ bigot/racist. That won't solve anything and actually pushes me personally away from the thought process.
I know conservatives do this as well so not singling out liberals. Just in my personal experience, I understand conservative view points much more so than left leaning points so naturally, I ask more questions about liberal view points and that shouldn't be a problem. That should be welcomed as an opportunity to share your beliefs and explain the rationale behind where the beliefs come from.
