    Mens basketball recruiting

We have been somewhat quiet on the recruiting trails recently. I do like the grad transfer pick up and Deivon Smith, Montgomery and some of other new guys have a chance of being good too. But we havent seen a homerun guy since Perry.

And i hate to bring up Stans, but he has somehow been able to recruit very well to WKU. He just got Zion Harmon and another kid that slips my mind who had offers from us, Alabama and Auburn. Stans was also able to get Mitchell Robinson to commit (He didnt stay but is currently in the NBA, and another NBA prospect in Charles Bassey..

I actually do like the team we have but we definitely need to step up recruiting

My frustration to some degree is that we just seem to be trying to accumulate talent with no real purpose of role/team building. For example it was extremely clear last year that we needed to try and find a grad transfer PG b/c Carter isn't a point, Weatherspoon wasn't a very good facilitator, outside shooter, was serving a suspension and was a big injury prone. Molinar was going to be true freshman. Yet there wasn't even a hint of us sniffing around for one.

Then we all same PG be a consistent weakness for us for a lot of the year.

I just have a hard time figuring out exactly how Howland "wants" to build a team and each person's role in the overall success. Just seems he wants an ultra-athletic PG, throw in a guy that can shoot a bit and play some tall, rangy guys around him and see how it works out.
