When Arbery was in school, he was in a group of guys who brought a gun to a basketball game. They all got charged with felony gun possession because it was a school. Arbery apparently got busted shoplifting in 2018, and the Dad was involved in the investigation that led to revoking Arbery's probation.
The son of the Wayne County DA (the second DA in the case) works for the Glynn DA, and led the case. So Arbery was known to the Dad - and by extension probably the son, and the conflict of interest with the second DA was known at the time the case was transferred to him.

My theory is this - In January, young McMichael's pistol was stolen out of his unlocked pickup at his Dad's house (that is the only theft reported in the neighborhood from December thru the day of the murder). Daddy had seen Arbery jogging thru the neighborhood and began to suspect him. He made sure to pay attention the next time he saw Arbery, and then recognized him from the case in 2018. Daddy probably called in a favor and got access to his file to confirm who he was, then they planned to confront Arbery next time they saw him. The point of the video was them thinking that the black guy would attack when confronted, and they wanted evidence that they were defending themselves. The also wanted to have "trophy" photos to share with friends. It blew up in their faces, and Daddy called in favors immediately, and the cover up began.

Favors are common occurrence between GCPD, the DA, and County Commissioners. It's how this almost got covered up. Its how the DA tainted a case to protect 2 GCPD officers who killed Caroline Small, and its how one of those cops was then later allowed to avoid charges of domestic violence and stalking just before he killed his ex-wife. It's also how the "suicide" of County Commissioner was covered up. Amazing how a guy with his hands zip-tied behind his back can shoot himself in the temple and then jump into the river after a night of gambling with another commissioner and the police chief.

****. I make it sound like this place is terrible and there are a lot of days I wonder how the GBI or FBI has come in and shut everything down. It really is a great place to live and raise a family, but damn the system is corrupt.

I would disagree with his "debunking" of the belief that Arbery was jogging. There have been multiple reports of other neighbors having seen him jogging regularly in the neighborhood.
I would also disagree with making the assumption that he was looking for something to steal. I've been in under construction houses dozens of times in my life out of curiosity. That's not even including when I have gone on to properties for sale so I could peek in windows to see what I could see, or the abandoned buildings I've gone through. Yeah, it's technically trespassing, and I've been hollered at and run off a couple of times for it. I bet most of the people reading this thread have done the same.

I don't think anyone would have a problem if they had chosen to run him out of the house, or follow him until police arrived. Hell, they had already called police. There is a precinct station 2 miles from there. Police were on site within 4 minutes of the call. Waiting for and communicating with police is the sane, logical approach. They made a decision to escalate the situation in a manner that threatened someone into believing their life was in danger, and they did it unnecessarily.

Damn. If everything he says is true which I have no reason to doubt, that's pretty wild. This is also my first hearing about this so that is about the only summary of all of this that I know.

There is no way the kid deserved what he got for entering that house but, there doesn't appear to be as much coverup as being portrayed. There never should've been a confrontation. If they wanted to pursue they could've easily ridden at a distance and recorded without stepping foot out of the car and kept the police informed of where he was headed. The fact that they had history is fishy.

I'd hate to be on this jury.

Sucks for the family the most being publicized and used by media whether he was breaking into a house or not.

This doesn't change one thing. Continue to not post, please. And to be honest, I'm shocked that it's taken so long for someone to defend these piece's of shit.

Brunswick- I live in a growing neighborhood and when I'm out walking I love going into houses being built. I've never worried about it or had the cops called on me. I'm not gonna help let this get into another political thread, so I'll just bow out now.

Turf did you see me at all say I was siding with them? My Point is the media is gonna construe a story however they see fit. They chose a side, and have ran with it. We used to live in a country where it was ?innocent until proven guilty? now it is ?guilty until proven innocent?. It doesn?t even have to be this story, plug in any scenario you want. It?s a slippery slope when we continue to allow the media to form our own opinions.
Now the other thing is apparently I was raised different because I have always known better to go trespassing on another?s property..especially ?snooping? around. It?s none of your business what someone has on their property.

You aren?t the sharpest. Those guys said he was guilty until proven innocent is the whole reason the incident happened.

They brought it on themselves so screw them.
