    Top High School Baseball Prospects

How does the cancellation of the high school baseball season affect top high school baseball prospects? Specifically, someone like Blaze Jordan. Does this increase our chances of getting him and others onto campus?

We won't really know until we get a confirmation on how they are going to do the draft. These players have been evaluated pretty much at this point so missing their senior year is mostly a disappointment for the players I'm sure but scouts have mostly seen what they are going to see.

It's doesn't really matter with hitters all that much because their draft stock is decided in the Summer, although this draft should see a lean to college players in the 1st round due to more info. Blaze should get to school as long as he's asking for 1st round money.

For HS pitchers, it hurts them dramatically as their draft stock is decided in the Spring season far far more than hitters.

All of the recruiting and scouting is done at the camps and showcases... so the players have been evaluated for the most part..you will have a few Jared Johnson types who blossom their Senior year of High School and pick up 5-7 mph on their fastball, but that is the exception.... what will be interesting is that if there are no camps and showcases this summer and its impact on next years recruiting and MLB Draft

The hitters yes because hitting is a unique skill. Thus the best ones can do it early in life.

Pitching has to be scouted in the Spring because their body types change and they can effect their ability both positively and negatively.
