Our small business has been wide open, as we fall under “essential”. It’s very hard to wrap your head around as to what to do. We’ve,obviously, changed some procedural things. Such as, no walk ins and our show room is closed. Tried to be incredibly careful with deliveries. Shut down all in home service work. But people are still buying and calling. It’s a catch 22, do you tell people you don’t want their orders? Burn 20 years of good name and service? If one salesman or warehouse employee catches it, we’re toast. Katrina was a weird deal to go thru, Bush and Obama’s Great Recession, was a bad bad deal. But this is something entirely different. It’s like everytime you go to work you’re playing Russian roulette. And of course my wife is a teacher and stays freaked out. I’ve had three in home service or deliveries get canceled due to the home owners having the virus. If the material would have gotten here a day or so earlier, I or one of my guys could have gotten it. Good times.
