    Myah Taylor

    Myah Taylor
#8 in the nation....assists to turnover ratio (2.80), including #1 in the SEC ahead of #2 Ty Harris of South Carolina.

Coach Schaefer's point guards have recently been ranking very high nationally in assist to turnover ratio....Jazz Holmes last season and before her Morgan William.
For the most part, Myah Taylor (competitor) has been a more than solid playmaker for the women's basketball team. Still needs to keep working on her game, keep working to become a consistent perimeter threat, 3-point threat. Also, would be good if she developed a mid-range game. Morgan William was much more of an offensive (including 3 pointers) threat at the point than the last two Miss. State starting point guards (Holmes and Taylor). Remember William explodng against Baylor in the NCAA Tourney a few seasons ago. Scored over 40 points in that game. William's ablity to make plays offensively, (including mid-range and 3 pointers) was huge for the team's ability to compete at Final 4, National Champioship type level. Taylor and Danberry in the backcourt together with neither being a perimeter threat has tended to help make it
much easier for defenses to scheme for Miss. State, especially packing it in utilizing various zones. Though, some games they have better matchups, and take advantage of their quickness, ball pressure, ect. Delima for Coach Schaefer...Myah Taylor's ability to take care of the ball and playmaking...then you have Danberry being one of team's best overall players. How do you adjust without losing such an important piece? Which? Either? Or make your ajustments around these two? Possibly play Aliyah Matharu as a third guard wiith these two? These type questions.

Myah's a good (very good passer) up and coming point guard, justs needs to keep working hard, continue to expand her game....especially on the perimeter. Also, she's tough, though would help if she got physically stronger. JaMya Mingo-Young is right there in the mix as well...another impressive looking Miss. State freshman.

Regardless, disagreements, and thoughts about the team...we still gotta support our
starting point guard, whomever it is. Gotta show support for Myah, help incourge her to be the best that she can. Fan confidence is important for these players. Bibby hasn't been playing over well lately, coming off an acl injury....let's show support for her as well.

That's really impressive, as I have been one of the critical ones towards Myah. She seems to be getting her role, although having another outside shooter is a need for our team.

She's become a very good facilitator. She also gets some steals and takes charges. She'll be great as our starting PG going forward. It's just a weird deal this year with Jordan unable to shoot the 3, so it's hard to play them together against comparable or better talent. I'd like to see the two of them split time at PG for the rest of the year and then let Myah take over next year.
