The Mississippi State WRs hit the absolute jackpot.

I would imagine there is at least one WR playing for Ole Miss who came from Brandon who has a lot of regret choosing those bastards.

Can't blame kids for the known information at the time.

Now.... if you're a guy like Harmon & Ole Miss runs Plumlee out there as their starting QB this year, it's a no brainer to sign with MSU. Plumlee may become a better passer, but I doubt OM will ever be a "passing team" with him under center.

They'll look Bama with Blake Simms under centerl

Harmon is likely OM bound. Just too much OM influence. Not saying you're wrong, but unfortunately many kids don't think that way.

I hope they don't look like Bama with Blake Sims. That would mean they would be 16th in the country in scoring, SEC Champions, and in the playoffs.

Maybe but it's still early and it's our coach's jobs to make them see reality.

I do look forward to how no filter Mike Leach handles players being bought in the SEC. He's never had to deal with what's coming.

Obviously they won't have Bama's talent. Just from a run/pass ratio and scheme, that's what they'll look like.

In 2014 with Blake Simms, Bama threw the ball 44% of the time and that included 124 catches by Amari Cooper.

The 2nd and 3rd WRs had 40 and 19 catches.

Conversely, last season Leach threw the ball 77% of the time with the top WRs getting 86, 85, and 78 receptions.

    Seems pretty clear to me.

I'm 100% sure he has had to deal with Texas, Texas A&M, USC, and probably Oregon buying players.

I think they start Corral. Kiffin likely recruited him at USC.

I know. Every time I get my hopes up we have some major implosion. But, it wouldn't surprise me to have a once in a decade kind of year in 2020 followed by a "WTF is this?" year in 2021.

To have a Cinderella season we'll need a LB, WR, and DE to step up and become a top 3 round type draft pick.

We'll need the Co-Lin signees to be HRs

Guess Kentucky didn't have to recruit against Tennessee at their peak of dirty, or any other SEC team from 1997-98 either? And no, the kids today aren't any different, the money is just more and the cars are different brands.

What does being in front of the media have to do with knowing what the recruiting game is like in the SEC?

As a recruit, Costello was higher ranked than any player Washington State has ever recruited and barely behind the best player that Texas Tech has ever recruited (a DT). Not just Leach at those schools, but the best players any coach has recruited at those schools.

I'm not sure if Leach has had more than 2 4-star receivers on any of his teams, either. (He will have 2 in 2020, 3 if you count Tulu as a WR)

= Leach will have as much or more to work with on offense at State than he ever had at Texas Tech and Washington State. We already knew we have better players on defense than Leach did at those schools, but offense too.
