Women's team would be well severed with at least 1 shooter in the backcourt

Possibly move Danberry to the 1 with M. Taylor....give the 2 spot to the freshmen. Lineup currently unbalanced with she and Myah on the court at the same time..
.teams are packing it in. Teams have the pattern for beating Miss. State. Matharu can shoot. The other 2 are capable of making some shots. This team very capable of out scoring teams like they in Italy (World University Games), also, use zone, whatever it takes. Also, wouldn't count out Andra Espinoza-Hunter...getting back on her game offensively.

    At this point...
Team's have the blue print on beating Miss. State. Offense unbalanced. Still, Miss. State can put scorers out there, and out score teams.

Been saying it all year. Taylor needs to sit. She makes bad decisions on D every game and really bad TO every game. Half our team will not get back on D. This is not a typical Vic team.

One question I have. If Hunter is so valuable that we have to put her in a crunch time why can't she log more than 2 minutes the rest of game? We've done that a lot this year. Hunters D is no worse that anyone else that will not hustle back. Hunter got the rebound and foul to tie game in end.

Jackson is super talented but disappears a lot. Not sure how to fix it.

Carter once again, only consistent player on team.

Taylor isnt a SEC point guard..... she cant shoot, makes bad decisions and is not very strong and gets knocked of the ball a lot...this team has same issue as men?s... very inconsistent guard play.,.. Morgan William was small, but she could hit an open jumper, was good with ball handling and made good decisions....

    Off-season......

    - Myah Taylor possibly get stronger during the off-season. Also, continue to practice on her 3 point and mid-range shooting.

    - Andra Espinoza-Hunter (off-season)- foot speed drills, play a lot of one on one games, man to man drills, ect. Can practice pick and roll drills, moving off ball, ect. Ball handling drills, and keep putting up as man shots as possible, including drills to help her get her own shot.

    - Chloe Bibby- same as above (see A. Espinoza Hunter)

As you know, she is a freshman, not buying your quote. Time fixes it.

I haven’t hid my feelings on Taylor all year - hard worker, waited her time but she’s not a pg for a top 20 team. She’s a total liability on offense and while her defense is ok it doesn’t outweigh the negative. Out of all the lineup combinations we’ve tried we haven’t tried essentially benching her a game while we’ve tried not playing all the other guards minus Danberry.

Coach Schaefer's....quick leash with his freshmen appears to be affecting confidence and development as the season moves along. 1 mistake, maybe 2 or so...normally pulls players like Matharu out of the game. This doesn't allow more for them playing through mistakes. Can also lead to players playing nervous. Rickea Jackson...allowed (that's a very good thing) to make multiple mistakes, not the others, especially Matharu. Not having time to get in good rythms, adjust to what's going on...on the floor, learn from experience and mistakes, gain confidence . These young players are starting to appear hesitant to shoot, and are tending towards being more mechanical in fear of messing up, getting pulled out fairly quick, ect....regressing from earlier in the season. Also, they were much more confident in Italy last summer....World University Games.

    Note...
Morgan William and Victoria Vivian's we're both allowed to stay in games, and play through mistakes as freshmen....really helped in there development into eventual standout players......multiple national championship appearances, ect.

Dawn Staley appears to handle the more talented 5 star type players much better at this point (including #1 class 2019). Though, Coach Schaefer does have experience with very high level young talent as an assistant at Texas A&M. Has built this program into a national power by being more of a develop the underrated players year by year coach. That and transfers have been the program's bread and butter in the past, and that's been a very good thing. As a head coach, he appears much less seasoned dealing with this level talent up grade in incoming freshmen. Will possibly need to make additional adjustments, including possibly continuing to keep up with the grad transfer portals, other type transfers, ect....if he wants to stay consistently (season to season) competitive or better than what Staley is doing at South Carolina.

Thus far grad-transfers, other type transfers have helped a lot in maintaining very high level teams. Anriel Howard was huge last season. Things could have easily been much tougher for McCowan and team last season without her. Didn't pickup up a grad-transfers this past off-season.

Work on 3 point shooting? Think it would have to be more to develop a 3 point shot. I say that because I don't think I've ever witnessed Taylor or Danberry take a 3 point shot. Pretty wild that your 2 starting guards on an SEC team have no ability to ever make a 3.

Will also add that while I admire how much effort she puts into playing defense she often commits very unnecessary fouls in the press that get her out of the game and often gives the opponent free throw opportunities.
