Does the new staff need a "learning curve" on in-state recruiting.
Hopefully, Tony Hughes is getting things done. I'm beginning to wonder

Buck isn't flipping IMO. Nobody is flipping to OM IMO. Just saying don't be surprised if we miss out on another in-State player.
This staff went after the guys they had a connection to. They had none in MS. Support staff needs to be trusted to make the call on in-State guys along with Huges. We've drug our feet a lot.

Please tell me you're not referring to Ty Cooper or Justin Walley then.....especially Cooper. In-state DL this year is waaayyyyy down and Cooper is the best in-state DL by a good margin. We gotta get him.

Two coaching changes in 3 years is hurting us because the relationships aren't there.
The good news is that at least we know this staff can coach. They'll develop the relationships. Leach could win 7 games at MSU with Wazzou talent.
He'll be fine.

This is why we need Hud back on staff in some capacity. I don't care who doesn't like it.

The problem is most of our Mississippi guys can't go out and recruit.

How many months would Hud actually be on staff before he left before the signing date? Just saying. Once burned is twice shy. Twice burned.......
I like Hud, but he would have to commit to being a position coach with a multi-million dollar buyout before I would trust him again.

I don't know. How many schools would be willing to hire him after ULL and Austin Peay flameouts? That has to say that there is a lot of risk in hiring him as a head coach. I think hiring him again would be different this time because of that alone.

IDK, he's only left for head coaching jobs. If he was like Manny and left twice for an assistant job, I'd agree. But Hud has only left for head jobs and that's hard to hold against someone.
Would you turn down a head job to stay as an assistant?
I can't see him being a head coach ever again

Dang, I had the over for "Can we make 14 days before someone mentions we needed hire Hud." Lost that bet.
"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

You can't blame a guy for leaving for a HC job. It's the lateral move guys that I wouldn't welcome back.

No, you cannot blame a guy for leaving for a HC job. However, you can blame a guy for looking all the time. You can be concerned about a guy who takes credit with anyone who will listen when anything goes right and blames someone else when anything goes wrong.

But you can blame him for Canning up. Now that the cat's out the bag, we can finally bury the idea of Hud on our staff. But no telling who is on his...

Yup. Another, athletic, good looking player. The rankings are so jacked up this year because this is the type of kid that goes to a camp & maybe becomes a 4 star, but will instead be ranked an 84 till SR film comes out & then we'll see if 247 even messes with it.
We're recruiting good athletes, but they're all ranked 84 due to the circumstances

Good get and much needed good news after a week of seemingly only bad news recruiting wise.
