Not disagreeing, but we don't know what the staff knows.
This is a very experienced staff & Leach has been doing this for a long time. I'm going to trust his evaluations unless he proves I shouldn't.

Here's his film. Like gun said, he's very smooth in his movement. Good hands. Decent size. Decent speed. His route running needs some work. All he does in this video is run a fly, a screen, or a quick out. He won't come in next year and play, but he's a guy that can be pretty good after a couple of years of good coaching and a weight room.

I disagree about how quickly he can play. His body control is really really good & that should allow for good route running quickly.
There is some similarity to how Walley looked last year. Physical tool don't show out on film, but the body control & smoothness allows for a quick transition in this offense

He looks ok but he doesn’t jump off as a great wr prospect to me. I don’t immediately see great speed or elusiveness and he doesn’t have above average size. He doesn’t look bad but we need to find some guys with impact upside. Price’s junior film is much better in my opinion but he’s waiting until Feb to sign he says. This may just be us taking the bird in the hand.
Hopefully I’m wrong in my quick evaluation from 5 min of film.

He won't play next year. He'll likely RS.

Well, we're pretty deep at WR. I think he would've played for this year's team but you're correct. I think he takes Austin William's role in 2022

That's the way Walley looked last year as well.
I don't disagree with anything you've said, but Mike Leach has been hitting on these guys for 20 years. So I'm going to go with what he thinks even if I don't totally see it.

Thomas is a very good route runner and catches everything. He's a good take.

Maybe on Walley but I remember those MS/AL 1:1 clips and he and Harvey looked like the 2 best receivers easily.
I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt as well though at this point as Leach should know what he’s looking for

I have my issues with Leach, but I will trust his evaluations on WR.

I don't think it has anything to do with us (not that I am in the know) but Kanarius Johnson decommitted from Tulane.

His film wasn't as impressive this year. We made the right choice between him and Jacobi Moore.
Moore deserves to be a 4 star

Chris was a way bigger and more imposing, physical receiver.
"We will have no problem in handling Kentucky."-Turfdawg67. MSU suffered a 27-17 defeat in 2022 with 225 yards in total offense.

MSU's roster lists Smith at 6'2" 210. Thomas will be about the same.

We signed Chris Smith at 6'1, 191; Rodarius is listed at 6'1, 185
