    Trip Wilson

    Just committed. 2020 Tupelo WR.

Wasn't he committed to the Landsharks previously?

Woah! Left field. He was a preferred walk-on at Ole Miss. We did offer a preferred walk-on spot but this all happened when both MSU and Ole Miss had different staffs.

Hopefully this is a sign of the future of our WR crooting

Go play for the polarizing less successful Kiffin and catch 30 passes or play for the fun super successful uncle and catch 80 passes.

    Your choice

He may be a PWO for MSU as well. I think his only scholly offers are Jaxville St., Austin Peay, etc.

    Excellent

Great kid and a great family. They're big State fans but Moorhead didn't do much to recruit him. He could really thrive and contribute under Leach.

From what I’ve read, he is a solid baseball player as well and will possibly try to play both sports.

Absolutely no disrespect to this kid or any kid we sign but we need players 2B dedicated and play only one sport unless they are a Bo Jackson or Frank ?big hurt? Thomas type.
They need to put all their energy into one sport as this isn?t high school anymore.

Lets cut the kid some slack - especially if he is a PWO that everyone is saying. Let the kid enjoy his moment.

Noticed he annoucned on Twitter he was leaving to go to OU, which I think was his childhood dream school.

Seems odd timing since the one person who could use his abilities just arrived on campus.

    Anybody know the story?

    Thanks

Maybe he will fit the Wes Welker/ Danny Amendola mold for us. Never know.

My reason for asking is not that he did anything special for us this past year, but he is a) a receiver which we have precious few or and b) as noted above, seems to be the type of receiver that Leach effectively utilizes.

It just seems that he has waited for his perfect moment and then leaves.

Oh well ... probably no big deal - just curious.

    Carry on.

    Because he's white?

    He's 6'2" 195. He's a big WR, not a small shifty one.

I was thinking more along the lines of a lower rated, unknown guy, willing to work hard and prove himself. Being a walk on, one could assume he has a chip on his shoulder and will put in the time and work that Welker and Amendola did. Had no clue on his size.

trip is pretty tall and I thought he was more like 6'3" but I figure he currently weighs in at around 185 but I could be wrong.
