Kylin and Errol coming back are huge

We could have a very veteran laden offense next year.

QB- Grad transfer who I assume will be a senior?
RB- Kylin is a senior and I think Lee Witherspoon and Marks will thrive in this system as receivers.
WR- Heath JUCO who is a four star WR coming out of HS.
WR- Osirus Mitchell- Sr who has improved every year and has made some nice plays over his career.
WR- Javonta Payton- Sr who should have started last year over Guidry.
WR- Austin Williams- Jr who I think will thrive in the slot in the Air Raid.
WR- Dontae Jones- Sr who I think will be moved from TE to WR and could be a match up nightmare. I think they'll make him lose some weight.
WR- Caleb Ducking- JUCO that no one knows about from Holmes. He's 6'5" and he's the kind of guy that Leach can turn into a monster that no one knows where they came from.

OL could have four seniors on it and maybe a freshman- who was a five star recruit.

    LT- Cross- Fr
    LG- Parker- Sr
    C- Sharp- Sr
    RG- Reese- Sr
    RT- Eiland- Sr

Call me crazy but I could see James Jackson beating out Reese at guard next year. Dolla Bill will have a say at OT.

I don't really know what to make of the defense yet since we don't have a DC.

DL- Kobe Jones and Marquiss Spencer are both seniors and adding Jordan Davis and Tre Lawson from the JUCO ranks helps. We also return all of our DT's who weren't as bad as feared last year. Lovett, Pickering, and Crumedy and then it looks like Key may stick with his commitment. This group should be better than last year and should improve as the JUCO's get acclimated.

LB- Errol will be a senior and that's a huge return. Tyrus Wheat probably starts at one of the other LB spots. If we run a 4-2-5 we're probably OK. If we go to a 3-3-5 we'll probably try to move some DE's to LB. Maybe. I really like Aaron Brule. We haven't really seen what Jett Johnson can do yet.

CB- Martin Emerson is young but rated very high analytically. He should be better. Tyler Williams is a junior and pretty solid except for that fourth down in the Egg Bowl which caused all hell to break loose. Jarrian Jones did OK for a freshman.

S- Should be better with Marcus Murphy playing every game. I thought Fred Peters really emerged late in the year and he is a senior. CJ Morgan is a senior but how healthy he is remains to be seen.

Flex- I think we may want to get a grad transfer for this position. I really like Janari Dean though and could see him contributing right away.

    Kickers should be better.

    K- Jace Christmann- Sr
    P- Day- Jr
    KO- Brandon Ruiz- Jr

    Returners should be solid.

I think I would go with Witherspoon and Tulu. At least at first.

This team has a sneaky amount of veterans especially if we can find a QB and the JUCO's on defense adapt quickly.

The best part of our returning talent is at OL. With that said, most of them aren't made for yard splits and passing every down. That's a challenge. Wr is a huge question, in experience and somewhat in talent. Defense is very short on depth. I don't count on jucos to help until halfway thru their sr year, at best. We will have to throw them into the fire. No choice.

Luckily we have until October to work out kinks.

I think most of the JUCO guys are going to be depth on the defensive side of the ball for the most part for the first half of the year while guys like Kobe Jones, Spencer, Lovett, and Pickering start. Except for Wheat who I think we start out of necessity. I feel like Leach will coach the WR's up at least to a degree.

    OFFENSE:
Other WR that might step up:
Cam Gardner, Torbor , and the player that may switch from DB to WR (Dylan Lawrence?). I think Dylan Lawrence, if he can catch, will be a nice addition on the WR group with his size and speed.
TULU will be an instant factor somewhere on the field.
Spivey and Dontae Jones- wild cards but agree on Jones if he gets into WR form
Will Korey Charles switch back to WR and help?

    DEFENSE
young guys - Jack Harris, and there is another young DE Demonte Ruseell and both of these guys have speed off the edge.
Wondering what King Ani will be like after a year recovering from HS injuries.
Cam Young seems to be a solid contributor for 2020

Defense- the guy we redshirted in secondary - Purvis - will be a player.

Looking at this, I was scared of 2021 but if we get a lot of younger guys rotating this year and learn the system, it might not be so bad.
I agree about our wr being improved. I think what we've been missing is those guys staying after practice catching balls. Well I'm thinking the way Leach runs his practices, they'll get the reps they've been missing in practice.

Just awesome that Kylin is coming back.

This decision single handily just saved our RB situation.

With Witherspoon as a SO & Marks as a FR, we're good now. No more worries at RB unless injuries happen

I missed out on the thread the other day about what can be expected for wins in 2020, but I'm quite certain we'll be favored in 7 or 8 games this fall. I bet the Vegas win total is 6 or 6.5. 3 of our toss up games are in November and the offense will have had plenty of time to get rolling. 2 of the 3 November toss up games (Mizzou and OM) are against first year HC's. I know there's been a lot of discussion and narrating about NC State returning a lot of younger players/starters from last years team. That's all well and good, but they were horrific last year. They finished 106th in Sagarin and 104th in Massey Composite. That's Arkansas/Vandy levels of awful. Anyone expecting to lose that game is being a little over cautious.

9-3 is a real possibility if we have a QB for Leach's system.

Boy when you step back and see what he has next year, it is promising. Not 2018 good by any means but this is a solid team that should win some games and compete. Not the complete rebuild next year some may think. May be more of a rebuild in 21

I do not see Eiland making it in this offense, one of the younger guys will win that position. With line splits starting at three feet then expanding depending on what the defense does during the course of the game he just doesn't have the feet to keep up one on one like the blocking scheme dictates.

We need Enroll to be a leader this year and get after it in the off season and keep the defensive guys accountable. He needs to come back to fall camp down about 20lbs and pure muscle.

That's a good breakdown of the roster. You left off DeMonte Russell, who I believe is going to eventually be the next Montez Sweat. I expect him to provide some really quality depth as a pass rushing specialist this year. There is a ton of talent on the defensive line. We need to get the grad transfer linebacker from Oklahoma and we need a grad transfer at safety as well.

Take that list and compare it to the rest of the SEC West. If Leach wins 9 games next year playing in the west with this team we better buy him his very own pirate ship.

8 wins with one of those being LSU would be fantastic for me. I really do see us beating LSU now

9 wins is a pipe dream unless you're counting the bowl game. 7 wins is more realistic.

Talked to my Ref friend at the gym. He does JUCO and Conference USA. He said Heath was the real deal. He has seen him up close on the field.
