One of the first things Leach asked when touring our facilities, if we had one and how big it was if we do.

I know we used to have one in Jackie’s days but I don’t think it’s there anymore.

According to the Wazzou fan on Sixpack, Leach loves Sand pits. Apparently working out in them loosens up the ligaments and prevents injury.

Didn't the S & C guy MSU had that used the Navy Seal training use a sand pit? I thought I read that in the SI article on him.

a small one. Mullen had it also for injured players to workout in during practice.

Leach uses one 40 yards long.
Not only did Mississippi State embarrass LSU on this night. Davis Wade Stadium wrecked Tiger Stadium in music choice, atmosphere and, most of all, volume.

That was Coach Grant. He was the greatest S&C coach in history when we were winning and a complete bum when Jackie’s slide started. At least according to the message boards at the time.

We had the sand pit in Marine Corps Boot camp. It was the hell of the hell you were living in. Only the Senior could put the platoon into the sand pit. If the platoon got put there he was really pissed off. If you could be sent to hell of hell that was it.

We had one on the police academy. I’m sure it was a cake walk compared to the one you had Jack, but we hated that SOB like Satan hates the Bible.

Not fun, we seemed to be in there daily in first phase. But the worst part was the sand fleas in there, "Were just going to stand here and feed for a while." after we stirred them up good.
