    2018 Dove Season

It?s that time of the year again. Who is all ready for opening day for dove season? We have cut the wheat and sunflowers on our 3 fields. They will be burned this weekend, weather permitting. The corn will be cut next week with additional light plowing. We are hunting opening morning then heading to Starkville for a day of tailgating (doves on the menu). 2 hunts on Sunday and 2 on Monday will lead to a sore shoulder with the high brass.

We will follow up on the K-State away game with shoots that weekend too. When birds are on the ground and on the grill, pics will follow. Good Luck to all this year.

Can't wait. I'll be doing a shrimp boil for a big group and we'll be watching the game on TV.

Many a Saturday I sat at a dove field by the car listening to Jack.

    Sweet, sweet memories.

Three boxes of shells and 3 or 4 birds. I can remember the day I was at Swearengen's service station, whose brother played at State btw, asking, "Did you know the barrel on that gun is bent?".
