Not a terrible decision IMO. Hope he has a short leash however.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Denver's ability to pitch plummets once he gets baserunners. He can't handle it.

Electric arm. Can't walk people though. Also, his fastball is straight. No movrment. And comes out of an easy to see arm slot. Make locating very important

Him or Cole. Who else? Gotta keep James coming out of the pen b/c he does better than the other two with runners on.

I called this in the game thread.

Ball was coming out well. I actually like this move.

That could be a disaster. With the way they take and take pitches and the way he

walks and walks it could get ugly very early on.

I don’t think his issue with guys on base is mental. Mechanically he is out of rhythm and his release point goes all over the place. Out of the windup his tempo and rhythm are consistent and so is his release point. Ball comes out of his hand all over the place out of the stretch and he takes a bit of a velo dip as well because of it.

As Jack Cristil would say- "It's not if- it's how much."

I think our pitchers tend to lose it if we commit an error on the field. It happened both with McQ and JB. I don’t think it’s mental midgetry. I think our pitchers try to be more fine when they don’t trust the defense behind them. Our problems today were because of mental lapses in the field. 5 of their 8 runs were unearned. That’s really bad.

And I can take freshmen making mistakes but Luke Alexander still making mental lapses like that in the field just sucks. If he just throws the ball he got to first, odds are good Samford doesn’t even score in that 3rd inning they put up a 5 spot. Alexander should not be back next year.

Oklahoma is gonna work the pitch counts up. They know our staff is on life support. We need DM and James to cover the entire 9 innings.

Oklahoma has two pitchers and they’ve already pitched them. I expect both teams to score a ton of runs.

3 outs or 3 innings? Wouldn't get your hopes up on the latter.

Well I hope their other pitchers are like Samford's starter today. I'd love to beat the Sooners 30-0 both days.
