    Weather/Pitching

Latest reports show rain Sat Sun and Mon.....does this make us rethink our strategy? If Friday could be the only complete game, and the Regional could drag out til next week, should we go ahead and pitch Pilk in game 1. That would be the best chance at a complete game, and possibly getting a second appearance out of him

Kinda surprised this isn't being discussed more, especially now that USM has named McCarty as starter for game 1. Let's say now we get 2 full games in on Friday, but Saturday and Sunday are rain outs....so this thing stretches into Tues or Wed. Suddenly USM has a big advantage with their Ace able to go again, while we wasted a chance to throw ours twice. I know it's a big time "If", but I really am starting to think if USM somehow loses to UIC tomorrow, we should make the change to Pilkington for Friday. Pilkington more likely to go 9, and if we're starting & stopping all weekend, it would give us more fresh arms.

Can any of our meteorologists give us a better idea of what to expect? Could we be looking at total wash outs Sat & Sun? If so, we might ought to switch to Pilkington Friday

Not to mention, rain catching a game early on while KP pitching, have to remove him because of an hour plus rain delay, we're really phucked then.

Yeah, this concerns me a lot. But it concerns me even if we pitched Pilk on Friday. With only planning to use six pitchers we obviously don't need weather delays to cause us to make pitching changes.
Weather could really screw us in this regional.

Gotta stick with the plan. Always a chance that rain plays a small role even when it's forecasted. If it was a 100% known washout with no chance of playing then it may be something to consider...can get yourself into trouble when counting on the weather to make a decision like that.

To be fair a 50-60 percent chance of scattered showers means it might rain for 10 minutes throughout the day

Yep. Years ago we had hay on the ground and I think it was a 20% chance and it rained like 4" ... Weather is very unpredictable.

Biggest issue , if it drags out till Tuesday or Wed, you lose pitching for the following weekend
