By the way BHildreth3, good luck to your son on his baseball visit this weekend
Max Hildreth will be taking an official this weekend. Born and raised in North Carolina but loves the Bulldogs. Been coming to campus since he was 3. '18 prospect, has some work to do, but really glad to see him get a look for the school he loves.

Well I guess we will definitely know who the coach is then. I hope everything goes great. I would love just to even take batting practice at the Dude much less have a chance to put on the uni.

BHildreth was as smooth a SS as you could ever want. Loved watching him glide across the diamond and fire a rocket to first. Have only had a couple or three since that could match his standard.

Hey guys - i'm not THE BRAD HILDRETH, he was just my favorite player on my favorite team - 1989 Diamond Dawgs. My goodness that 89 team was legit. That was the team that should have won a Natty.

I knew you weren't, just thought I would take advantage of the timing. Plus if you were you would be BHildreth4.

That team, the 2013 team, the 1990 team, and the 1985 team all should have been national champions, IMO.

1985 is the only one you can say definitely, IMO. Nobody could beat 2013 UCLA, and 1990 got out-classed in Omaha. You could make the argument for 1989 I guess.

I went to every game of that regional. Sucked we couldn't close the deal. Bobby Reed had a ton of heart.

I've always thought the 84 team could've been better than 85

I still have Hildreth's cap I stole off the top of the dugout my freshman year. He was a Pike and when I went thru rush he was the guy that talked to me, and was a quiet, nice, sincere guy. I pledged elsewhere but I liked him, that's why I drunkenly stole his cap as a joke. We sat there and laughed as he looked for it when State took the field next inning. Always meant to give it back to him but never got around to it.
Not only did Mississippi State embarrass LSU on this night. Davis Wade Stadium wrecked Tiger Stadium in music choice, atmosphere and, most of all, volume.
When I'm 80 and deaf, it's not going to be all those Springsteen concerts or Queen at Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans on Halloween Night in 1978, it will be this game...............Glen Guilbeau--Sherveport Times
