    That delusional ****!

He wants to say we're 3 plays from being 5-2 as if barely beating really shitty teams like USA and UK and a Les Miles led LSU that was a shadow of what they are today would have been great.

Screw you, Dan! We should have never been in a position, less than 2 years removed from 2014, where we could lose due to a missed or made FG against those teams.

This ^^^^. It shouldn't come down to last play of the game against 3 or those teams.

In neither the Kentucky nor the South Alabama did we deserve to win in the first place. USA missed 2 easy field goals. Kentucky outgained us by 200 yards. The better team won both times. That just shows you how pathetic a job he's done.

Just as easily say we're 4-5 plays from 0-7. Winning teams make those plays and losing teams don't. Guess what we are, Dan?

Not sure why y'all are mad at what he said. This team wasn't world beaters to begin with. Let's not forget most of us said 6-7 wins was the max. Now it shouldn't have come down to the last play against USA, but the fact of the matter is that we should at worst be looking for win number 5 next week which would have put us exactly where most of us said we should be.

You can be mad at what has transpired and the coaching, but don't get mad for him saying we should be 5-2 when most of us said the same thing three months ago. There's plenty of other things to pissed off about than him actually saying something truthful like this.

He is actually right. Yeah we shouldn't be coming down to last plays against USA and KY, but it did and we just didn't have players to make plays. I put all this in another thread but it's frustrating. He is telling the truth though and actually 4 games came down to last play/drive.

I guess after we go 2-10 he will say we were just 4 plays away from being 6-6 and a bowl game.

We are 3 plays from 5-2, but my eyes tell me we are a bad football team. If we were 5-2, I'd probably be in an much better mood, but would be laughing that this bad of a football team is 5-2.

This team is awful & plays with no fundementals

Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda. We aren't 5-2. And no just a few plays don't make us have a better record. We should of destroyed USA. We would of beat BYU if our O Line could block. And we could of beat KY if we didn't commit stupid penalties.

He's right. We are a few plays away from barely beating subpar teams. I don't think that's a good thing. It is unforgivable that he did not prepare this team for post-Dak.

We should be better no doubt, but it happens...

    With Eli 10-3
    Without Eli 4-7

    With tebow 13-1
    Without tebow 8-5

    With cam 14-0
    Without cam 8-5

With Connor Cook (Michigan state) 12-2
    Without Connor cook 2-5

Interesting that those down seasons led to 2 coaches leaving... cutcliffe and urban Meyer. Florida was full of idiots to be screaming for a pro offense and telling urban to change. We called OM idiots for years for firing cutcliffe and now we want to do the same thing

And a number of those teams the Did worse in the second season after their stars left. OM 3-8, AU 3-9, UF 7-6.

The reality is that when your team is so focused on one transcendent player, unless you are Alabama, it can cause your team to be totally rudderless in the wake of that player leaving. It happens at every level of sport regardless of team talent or quality of coaching.

Your kind of looking at one aspect of a much larger picture. I don't think any of those teams had a head coach shopping themselves around so publicly during the off season nor do I think they mailed it in on recruiting. 2 of those teams had drop off but still went to bowl games. At this point you are kind of saying that if it happens to Ole Miss it's ok for it to happen to us. I'm of the opinion that I don't care what happens to other teams. I want a coach with a fire in his belly, that wants to be here, and that coaches up his players. Not what I'm seeing this year.

He needs to go-no doubt about it. He's reached his peak at State and we're on the steep decline-as we were in Sherrill's last years.
