When I joined this message board three years ago........
There was no personal attacks on other posters. Everyone disagreed on stuff which is ok but now there are some hash stuff said to each other. That was the part of Six Pack I did not like, "the personal attacks". This board is becoming much like that one.

Valid point. Clean it up guys.

We eat our own, we don't know any better. Somebody gives Ole Miss fans a rope, they all grab one end and start pulling. You give M- State fans a rope and we separate it into individual strands, tie a knot in the middle, and see how many different directions we can pull it in.

This seems like a good idea.

Out of curiosity, what do you think the cause of this is?

At M-State it's always a competition to see who can hate our coach first.

I agree!!!! And the language is horrible these days!

A thread complaining about people complaining...go figure

Maybe just have a "venting" thread/forum? Limited access to the lurker crew based on post count, rep, etc. like some of the other forums on here. Simply go in bi+<h about what you want then go on about your business. Remove the "reply" button it's simply to get it said and be done with it. Removing the back and forth dialogue should help the personal attack stuff, an Elitedawgs confessional if you will. The bully pulpit? I don't know just a thought, could have fun with in title and drive a few lurkers nuts wondering what's said in there.

Well just my opinion but, outside of a couple of years with Jackie, we have never known success in football prior to Mullen's arrival. We just don't know how to handle winning nor what to do to sustain it. Age of the fan has a lot to do with it also, the fifty something has an entirely different view of State athletics than a twenty something and sometimes those views clash. I feel that most of us that attended MSU or are just fans of the school did so because the engineering and technical aspect that is the backbone of our university represents our personality. We try to analyze every detail and dissect every aspect instead of just looking at some pie in the sky ending that the liberal arts bastion up north is chasing.

It's a massive inferiority complex that is part of MSU Sports Induced PTSD. We have come to expect failure. So in order to prevent failure we pick apart successful coaches and players to justify our belief that we will fail. It then gets whipped up into a froth of discontent that eventually makes its way up from the fringe to the mainstream. It then induces panic at the first sign of not having a good season - or by being let down during a successful season that did not result in the ultimate championship. With so many engineers in our base the natural progression is to to try to fix what is broken - even if it isn't broken. This leads to the general belief that what isn't broken actually can't be fixed, so we have to blow it up and start over from scratch to fix the over engineering of the fix that wasn't needed in the first place.
(sorry if I'm picking on Engineers, but I just dealt with a stupid AU dirt mover who can't figure out retention ponds to save his life)

Very well stated!

Normally I would preface this with dumbass, but under the new rules will just say this. We had some really good years under Bob Tyler! Just kidding, I don't do that.
I totally agree with this thread, we can all be civil as I imagine all of us probably have more maroon t shirts than we actually need.

Good post. I would add though that this inferiority complex comes only after having your heart ripped out over and over.
Honestly, how many of us either said it or knew that we would miss the final FG to end the South AL game as they were lining up for it? I'll be honest and say that I out loud voiced to those around me that we would miss it, and everyone agreed. Why did I have this mentality? It's because failures like that have happened time and time again. We're all fearful of the top regarding State, as all we've ever really known (or at least me) is small, minor successes with prolonged times of despair. We live by the motto "there is always next year"....
If I'm incorrect in this logic, please let me know.

USA was the first time my daughter as been to a game in DWS. I turned to her right before the kick and said "we will miss this, welcome to MSU football."
