Heart attack at 61. Steroids and the physical beatings (yes, even though it's fake, it's still hard on the body) take their toll. Saw an episode of wife-swap with him. Seemed like a truly good, down-to-earth, God-fearing Christian.

Man, I used to love RRP and Piper's Pit. He was in the first Wrestlemania.

he was one of my favorites.

I always hate the term "fake." Yeah, the outcomes are predetermined. But what they do in the ring is anything but fake. It's hell on the body. Every routine bump is like being in a 25 MPH car crash. And that's not counting all the spectacular spots. That's why you see so many wrestlers, especially the older ones, addicted to painkillers, alcohol, etc. There's only one industry that's more of a meat grinder than wrestling.
It's the roller coaster of hope that this program keeps us on that makes it hell being a State fan. - CadaverDawg, 10/15/22
