    San Diego weekend thoughts

Obviously a big loss today. But SD is a good club, I can see them in a regional. They are very talented.

I said yesterday and today, if we could get some big hits, doubles/ HRs it would loosen us up, etc. No big hits. I don't think anyone today came close to a HR.

What's wrong? Holland just in a big slump. He swung at a knee high fastball yesterday and popped it up to 3B. Knee high fastball is a grounder or line drive pitch, why is he popping up so much? Hump still a young hitter, didn't hit last summer. Collins is still hurt.

You guys should know this if you have any baseball sense---someone get hot then others will, hitting is contagious.

Fitts can't throw his curve unless he throws fastballs first! It won't work. Daniel Brown is the key. He can replace Fitts. Watch for it. Also, Paul Young needs to play. Why Cole Gordon not pitching is beyond me, take redshirt off.

The next few teams are OK. Western Kentucky, Alabama, eastern Illinois, Kentucky, USM. We can win at least two from bummer and Kentucky. Then maybe we can be all healed up.

We are complaining about being 14-3, BC we should be better. Damn right!

I'm not worried about this team. We will get better in all phases. We want to win the West, host a regional and go to Omaha. Unless you know the future, don't say nothing negative. Baseball is about adjustments!!! We will adjust, we will learn, we will get better.

The odds of getting big hits are decreased when a bunt is automatic after the leadoff runner gets on.
