    Cool Drone Footage of Biloxi

    (stolen from another board)

Beautiful scenery along 90 by the beau and good shots of the rocks leading to deer island. That green water you see isn't a filter either, that's how it looks in the winter when everything clears up. I think that the MS Gulf coast is very underrated and undervalued by Mississippians. We have great beaches (ship island ferry), great fishing, great entertainment at the casinos, and some outstanding local restaurants. Too many folks are willing to dismiss the MSGC for 30A, destin, etc... and that's all good and fine for a 5-7 day vacay but if you aren't taking advantage of the coast during the summer for weekend trips, shame on you. Get off work at 5 and be on the coast early enough for dinner unless you're in the top of the state. BeastMan's tourism speech is over

If you want to hang out on the beach 30a and destin can't be beat without getting on a plane. But the ms gulf coast has better food, and similar or slightly better golf. Fishing I guess is better out of Destin.

Depends on what kind of fishing you want to do if we're talking MS vs Fla Panhandle. If you're a deep water wreck/reef guy than it is better due to closer proximity from the launch to spots. In MS you have to make long runs past the islands to get to deep water wrecks, reefs, and rigs. Once you get there the fishing is comparable. As far as inshore species, I'd go MS all day everyday. You'd have a better probability to catch a trophy trout in the bay in Destin but overall the trout and redfish in MS is much better.

What breed of trout? I've fished rainbow & brown in the mountains, so the only trout I've known are cold-water fish..

Haha ok thanks. I loved fly fishing for mountain trout, & I've read about someone who played a shark on a fly line for over an hour before getting it in the boat...
