    Starkville golf question

Are there public courses and which is the best one?

I always liked playing the MSU course. I haven't played it in years though.

I like playing the MSU course. Only other public courses I've played are elm lake and the links.

MSU course has some pretty good holes. You can pay to play Old Waverley in West Point which is great. Lion Hills in Columbus is public as is Elm Lake between Starkville and Columbus.

The best public option in Starkville is State's course. I haven't played there in a few weeks, but back in late June it looked as good as I have ever seen it. Hope this helps

What is the future of the state course? I remember something about a partnership with Old Waverly for the golf team.

SCC is in great shape and you can pay to play out there.

Technically, it's private, but if they don't expect the course to be packed, they usually won't turn you (and your money) away.

Waverly is now for the golf teams, Msu course will be used for students and public and turf grass program will keep it good if I were betting
