    Maybe that is why we are successful getting guys on base but so unsuccessful knocking them in.

    Exactly. I love how Cohen handles this. Let walk-ons "commit" and get the praise and moment in the sun -- then give them the exact same opportunity that "scholarship players" get.

    Betting the kid is on academic aid >/= any baseball money he could have received...

    Just read Gene's interview with Head coach and Jarrod Parks and both really like him. HC thinks he will be a very good pitcher in the SEC. So by reading this, it doesn't look like he is a walk on. Alabama was after him bc he grew up around there. To me, they got a diamond in the rough. He was hurt and is coming back from it. If he was totally healthy this past year, his numbers would be great.

    And he was RS his first year bc of the injury, so in August will be his 4th year of college, so he is older and more experienced. I see alot of upside. Hey, at this point, any commit will have upside. We don't sign or have walk on anyone that doesnt have a chance.
